The universe has had it’s fair share of changes throughout the year. One example of change is often found in the daily cycle of sunrises followed by the casted darken shadows of a somber nightfall. Ever since the inception of the human existence we have continued to change and evolve. The point is change is inevitable. There are simple solutions to every problem that exist in the world. Often times, I hear people who grew up in loving two parent households criticize children and parents who grew up in abusive sometimes single parent households. Wouldn’t it be much easier to reach out to those families and try to fill that void?
Many of our scholars and working professionals who have
achieved various levels of success condemn the unemployed, ex offenders,
mis-educated, and poor. Instead maybe they
should consider reaching out to the least of these and making more efforts to restore
the disenfranchised. I would also like
to say to our retired population full of skilled professionals and wise elders
we need your service. Our youth, young adults, new parents, and newly weds
could surely use your wisdom.
The truth is we don’t have to wait on a movement we can
start a movement. If you think your community needs a particular social program
or business, go ahead and start it or help someone else start it. Start with “I”! I will start the program, I will create a
better school, I will develop an economic improvement plan for my community, I
will teach the young men in my community how to be men, I will get involved in
my community, I will help my neighbor, I will adopt a school, I will feed the
hungry, I will clothed the poor, I will teach the mis-educated, I will house
the homeless, I will counsel the abused, and will start with me first.
We must be empathetic, compassionate, and responsible for
the least of these. We must look at ourselves first and stop waiting for
someone else to save the day. You where created to bring hope to a broken world
and light to dark places.
